How To Use A Neti Pot To Keep Your Sinuses Clean

Keeping your sinuses clean and healthy has never been easier. Using a Neti Pot, a person can literally flush out their sinus cavities with a warm saline solution.

You start by emptying the dry saline solution into the bottom of the Neti Pot. Next, you fill the Neti Pot up with warm water to the fill line or to the hole that connects to the spout.

Then, gently mix the saline solution into the warm water until it is fully dissolved. Once you have accomplished this you are ready to get to the fun part.

Start by bending over the sink. Next, insert the tip of the Neti Pot into your right nostril until it forms a nice air tight fitting. Then tilt your head to the left while lifting the back of the Neti Pot higher than the spout. This will start the flow of warm saline solution from the spout into your sinuses.

Remain in the position until the warm saline solution begins to pour out the left nostril and into the sink. Remain in this position until all of the solution has been circulated through your sinus cavities.

After all of the solution has been spent, stand back up straight and then gently blow your nose into a tissue so that you don't force any leftover solution into your ear canals.

The final step is to do this all over again but this time going from your left nostril to your right nostril.

This is how you can easily and painlessly help to clean out your sinus cavities for optimal sinus health.

Allergies vs Sinus Infections

What is the difference between allergies of the sinuses and a sinus infection? From what I can tell, the difference is quite CLEAR. Clear as the mucus that is coming out of your sinuses that is.

When you have a sinus infection, the color of the mucus draining from your sinuses will be yellow or even green. This is the sign of an infection.

Conversely, when your mucus is clear and runny, it normally means that you have allergies.

This is a quick and easy way to tell if you are suffering from a sinus infection or just some bad allergies.

Chronic Sinusitis and Antibiotics

Chronic sinusitis is another name for chronic sinus infection. Acute sinus infections are normally short lived and don't continually recur. Chronic sinus infections last a long time or keep coming back over and over again.

Acute sinus infections normally just need to run their course. Recently, a British study showed that antibiotics and steroids seemed to have no effect on acute sinus infections.

Chronic sinus infections are different. A Mayo Clinic study showed that almost all chronic sinusitis is caused not by bacteria, but rather by fungus. This means that treating a sinus infection with antibiotics will not be effective as antibiotics do not kill fungus.

Many people have reported excellent relief from chronic sinus infections using a product called Silver Sinus. Silver Sinus is a natural mineral supplement called colloidal silver.

Silver's antimicrobial properties have long been known and it makes sense that this natural sinus infection remedy could be able to bring relief for chronic sinus sufferers.

Dealing with Sinus Infection Naturally

If you are having problems with sinus infections and don't want to go on harsh antibiotics to try and stop them, you may need to start looking for a natural sinus infection cure.

Antibiotics can be effective in fighting off a bacterial sinus infection, but many sinus infections are the result of an immune system reaction to fungus in the sinus cavities.

This reaction can cause excess mucus build up and inflammation of the sinuses. Antibiotics are not effective against fungus so trying different natural sinus infections cures may be a better bet in these instances.

There are many different types of natural sinus products on the market today. If you don't know which one is right for you, then you may want to try some different products and see how they work for your symptoms.
